Another major manufacturer has started operations at Urbanity Campus Tachov
URBANITY completes manufacturing facility for Eurostyle Systems
URBANITY Real Estate Group has completed and handed over to its client, the French company Eurostyle Systems, a brand new production hall, which is part of a unique industrial complex called Urbanity Campus Tachov, in a ceremony. This 22-hectare former urban brownfield site in western Bohemia aspires to BREEAM Communities certification, which assesses the important quality of life in major urban developments and their contribution to local communities.
The new hall with an area of 12,500 m2 will be used for automated robotic production of plastic mouldings. The plastic injection moulding activity is a continuation of the more than 60-year history of plastic production in Tachov.
Urbanity Campus Tachov is located in the suburban area of Tachov. It is a large area of approximately 22 hectares, where production buildings with administrative facilities and a central building offering all amenities for employees and the surrounding community are located. The site includes more than 60,000 m2 for the future construction of production areas and a forest park project. The just completed production hall for Eurostyle Systems is thus one part of a unique campus. In total, the Urbanity Group expects to invest more than CZK 2.5 billion, while investments in production technologies are expected to be at least the same amount.
This is the first production plant in the Czech Republic for the international company Eurostyle Systems. In total, it operates in 14 manufacturing plants located in 10 countries. During the ceremony, François-Xavier Lemasson, CEO of Eurostyle Systems, introduced: "We chose the Czech Republic because it is located in the middle of Europe and is close to many cities important for the automotive industry, with a skilled workforce. Operating here in Tachov allows us to be close to France and Germany, where we plan further activities, so it is a very strategic location."
The vice-mayor of Tachov, Josef Horáček, appreciated that the new production campus was built in the local region: "We welcome the fact that full operation will bring an increase in the number of exciting jobs to our city for young, educated people who we don't want leaving the city to move elsewhere for work."
Roland Hofman, co-founder of the URBANITY group, added: "We are pleased to welcome Eurostyle Systems to Urbanity Campus Tachov. We have succeeded in fulfilling the idea of what a modern and exceptional working environment can look like. The Tachov campus not only meets the demanding ESG criteria, but is also the only domestic aspirant to achieve the BREEAM Communities award for sustainable urban areas and public spaces, and is also the only area globally with a predominantly manufacturing function that has a chance to achieve this comprehensive certification."
The handover ceremony included an open day, during which the public could also see the unique premises of the complex.
